The Role of Pilates in Managing Neurological Disorders
Joseph Pilates, the founder of the Pilates method, believed that true health comes from the integration of mind, body, and spirit—a concept he called "Contrology".
By emphasizing controlled, precise movements guided by mental focus, Pilates helps retrain the brain-body connection, which is essential for individuals recovering from neurological conditions.
The core principles—mindful movement, breath control, posture, and alignment—support neuroplasticity, improve motor control, and promote balance and coordination. This makes Pilates an exceptionally effective partner alongside conventional therapeutic strategies.
About Me
Anne Hibbetts

My journey to founding Triumph Pilates & Neuro Movement Studio is deeply personal. After witnessing my father’s struggle with Parkinson’s disease, I became acutely aware of the challenges faced by individuals with neuromuscular conditions—and the limited specialized care available to support them.
As a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) and Level 2 Neuro Studio Practitioner, I specialize in working with clients living with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and stroke.
Triumph Pilates & Neuro Movement Studio is more than a business—it’s a mission born from compassion and purpose: to support and empower those facing physical challenges, helping them move with greater strength, confidence, and quality of life.
